This qualification is for individuals looking to pursue a career in the health and social care industry. This is an ideal course if you are looking for care roles in residential settings, as well as domiciliary services and day services. If you want to become a nurse, teacher, social worker, occupational therapist or study for a degree in psychology, social sciences, childhood studies or health studies then this is the course for you.
This brand new RQF qualification replaces the old Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
The Health and Social Care consists of both practical work experience and guided teaching by an Assessor, who would come to observe your activities in your workplace. You would normally be required to give 30-35 hours a week to your training.
For you to achieve the Diploma in Adult Care, you will need to practically demonstrate your skills,. Your assessor will access your practical skills through workplace observation.
Applicants will be assessed and interviewed to demonstrate that they are able to cover the range required by the relevant RQF at work. In addition, the apprentices are expected to carry out initial assessments in English and Maths where they would be expected to ideally achieve a level 1 in both the subject areas. If you do have GCSE then they don’t have to do functional skills as a part of the apprenticeship.
You can apply through the college application. Once you have applied to the college, you will be invited for an interview at the college and also with the potential employer.
